Theme: Light of the World
“Let that day be turned into darkness, let not God regard it from above, and let not the light shine upon it.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Job 3:4: “Let that day be turned into darkness, let not God regard it from above, and let not the light shine upon it.”
A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings. Job belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices.
Today's invitation under the theme of Light of the World is simple and serious. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Job 3:4, let “Let that day be turned into darkness, let not God regard it from above, and let not…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
