Reflection for Today
Pause with Nehemiah 3:19. Hear these words again: “And next to him Aser the son of Josue, lord of Maspha, built another measure, over against the going up of the strong corner.”
Nehemiah is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. God's strength does not always remove the weight. Sometimes it teaches us how to carry it without losing charity.
Today's invitation under the theme of Strength is simple and serious. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Nehemiah 3:19 I hear, “And next to him Aser the son of Josue, lord of Maspha, built another measure, over…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
