Theme: Daily Scripture
“And assembling together all the chief priests and the scribes of the people, he inquired of them where Christ should be born.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Matthew 2:4: “And assembling together all the chief priests and the scribes of the people, he inquired of them where Christ should be born.”
Matthew does not give us a distant memory of Jesus. It places us in His company, where every word can become prayer. The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves.
Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Matthew 2:4 close to me. Let “And assembling together all the chief priests and the scribes of the people, he…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
