Theme: Joy
Forgiveness & MercyJoyGratitude
“Sing praise, and rejoice, O daughter of Sion: for behold I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee: saith the Lord.”
Reflection for Today
Let Zechariah 2:10 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Sing praise, and rejoice, O daughter of Sion: for behold I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee: saith the Lord.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. In Zechariah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.
Today's invitation under the theme of Joy is simple and serious. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Zechariah 2:10 close to me. Let “Sing praise, and rejoice, O daughter of Sion: for behold I come, and I will dwell in…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
