Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Thursday, December 3, 2026, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Peace

Enter thou into the rock, and hide thee in the pit from the face of the fear of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty.

Isaiah 2:10

Reflection for Today

Let Isaiah 2:10 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “Enter thou into the rock, and hide thee in the pit from the face of the fear of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty.”

In Isaiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Many of us carry quiet fear into work, family, and prayer. This verse does not shame that fear. It invites us to bring it into the light of God.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.

Prayer

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Isaiah 2:10 close to me. Let “Enter thou into the rock, and hide thee in the pit from the face of the fear of the…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
