Theme: God's Love
“Behold my beloved speaketh to me: Arise, make haste, my love, my dove, my beautiful one, and come.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Song of Solomon 2:10: “Behold my beloved speaketh to me: Arise, make haste, my love, my dove, my beautiful one, and come.”
Song of Solomon is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Love in Scripture is never only a feeling. It is a decision to will the good of another, even when it costs patience, time, or pride.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Song of Solomon 2:10 I hear, “Behold my beloved speaketh to me: Arise, make haste, my love, my dove, my beautiful…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
