Theme: Daily Scripture
“And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elias, into heaven, by a whirlwind, that Elias and Eliseus were going from Galgal.”
Reflection for Today
Let 2 Kings 2:1 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elias, into heaven, by a whirlwind, that Elias and Eliseus were going from Galgal.”
2 Kings is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.
Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In 2 Kings 2:1 I hear, “And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elias, into heaven, by a whirlwind,…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
