Reflection for Today
Let Zechariah 1:10 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered, and said: These are they, whom the Lord hath sent to walk through the earth.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. In Zechariah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Zechariah 1:10 close to me. Let “And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered, and said: These are they,…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
