Catholic Verse of the Day

Micah 1:12

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Friday, October 2, 2026, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

For she is become weak unto good that dwelleth in bitterness: for evil is come down from the Lord into the gate of Jerusalem.

Micah 1:12

Reflection for Today

Today's Catholic verse of the day is Micah 1:12: “For she is become weak unto good that dwelleth in bitterness: for evil is come down from the Lord into the gate of Jerusalem.”

Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. In Micah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.

Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.

Prayer

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Micah 1:12 close to me. Let “For she is become weak unto good that dwelleth in bitterness: for evil is come down…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
