Catholic Verse of the Day

Job 1:1

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Monday, September 14, 2026, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

Peace

There was a man in the land of Hus, whose name was Job, and that man was simple and upright, and fearing God, and avoiding evil.

Job 1:1

Reflection for Today

Today's Catholic verse of the day is Job 1:1: “There was a man in the land of Hus, whose name was Job, and that man was simple and upright, and fearing God, and avoiding evil.”

Peace is one of the first things anxiety steals. Christ does not deny our storms; He offers a peace that can remain even while the waves are still high. Job belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Share this verse with someone who needs encouragement, not as advice from above, but as a gift you yourself are trying to live.

Prayer

Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Job 1:1. As I listen to “There was a man in the land of Hus, whose name was Job, and that man was simple and…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
