Theme: Daily Scripture
“The entrails and feet being washed with water. And the priest shall burn them upon the altar for a holocaust, and a sweet savour to the Lord.”
Reflection for Today
Let Leviticus 1:9 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “The entrails and feet being washed with water. And the priest shall burn them upon the altar for a holocaust, and a sweet savour to the Lord.”
Leviticus is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Father of mercies, I bring You this day and this verse from Leviticus 1:9. As I listen to “The entrails and feet being washed with water. And the priest shall burn them upon…,” heal what is anxious in me, correct what is proud, and strengthen what is willing to love. Amen.
