📖 Life of St. Chrysogonus
Chrysogonus was an early Christian martyr who suffered under Emperor Diocletian in the early fourth century. Tradition holds that he was beheaded at Aquileia after refusing to renounce Christ. His name means “gold-born,” signifying the treasure of faith he preserved unto death.
From prison he corresponded with St. Anastasia, encouraging her to remain faithful amid persecution. After his martyrdom, he appeared to the priest Zoilus and directed that Anastasia be strengthened in her witness.
His feast is celebrated on November 24, the day before St. Anastasia's own feast. He is honored as a model of priestly courage and spiritual friendship in times of trial.
