On this fourth day, we pray for the restoration of our intimate relationship with God and His presence.
Prayer for Day 4
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Most Loving and Faithful Father, we come before You today seeking the restoration of our intimate relationship with You. We acknowledge that You are the God who never stops loving us, never stops pursuing us, and never stops calling us back to Yourself. You are the One who created us for relationship with You, and You desire nothing more than to restore that relationship to its full beauty and intimacy.
Lord, we recognize that our relationship with You can become damaged through sin, through neglect, through spiritual dryness, through doubt, and through many other factors that can create distance between us. We know that You never move away from us, but that we often move away from You through our choices and our actions.
We pray that You would help us to understand that restoring our relationship with You begins with acknowledging the ways in which we have moved away from You. Give us the humility to recognize our own role in creating distance between us and the courage to take the first step back toward You.
Lord, we ask You to restore our relationship with You to a place of deep intimacy and trust. Help us to rediscover the joy of spending time with You in prayer, the peace of knowing that You are always with us, and the love that flows from being in Your presence. Teach us to communicate with You as we would with our closest friend, sharing our joys, our sorrows, our hopes, and our fears.
We pray that You would help us to understand that our relationship with You is not based on our performance or our worthiness, but on Your unconditional love and grace. Help us to see that You love us not because of what we do, but because of who You are, and that nothing we can do will ever make You love us more or less.
Lord, we also pray for all those who are struggling in their relationship with You. May they too find the path back to intimacy with You and experience the joy and peace that comes from being close to You.
