Prayer for Day 2
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Gracious and Merciful Father, we come before You today with hearts that are weary from spiritual dryness and souls that are thirsting for Your living water. We acknowledge that spiritual dryness is one of the most difficult trials that we can experience in our spiritual journey, and we know that You understand this suffering intimately.
Lord, we recognize that spiritual dryness can make us feel distant from You, even when You are closer to us than ever before. It can make prayer feel like a burden rather than a joy, and it can make us question whether You are really listening to us or caring for us. We know that these feelings are not from You, but from the enemy who wants to separate us from Your love.
We pray that You would help us to understand that spiritual dryness is often a sign of spiritual growth and purification. Just as the desert is necessary for the growth of certain plants, so too is spiritual dryness necessary for the growth of our souls. Help us to see this time not as a punishment, but as an opportunity for deeper trust and surrender to You.
