Novena for Someone in a Coma – Day 3: Long-term Coma
Join in praying the Novena for Someone in a Coma to seek healing and recovery for those who are unconscious.
Today's Focus: Long-term Coma
On this third day of the Novena for Someone in a Coma, we pray for those who have been in comas for many years. We ask God to restore health even to those who have been unconscious for extended periods.
Prayer for Day 2
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Dear Lord, we thank You and praise You for the gift of health. We humbly ask You today to restore to health all who are in comas, if it be Your will.
It can sometimes feel hopeless to pray for a person who has been in a coma for many years. If medical interventions have not worked to end the coma, it can seem as if there is no hope for the person to awaken. In Your omnipotence, You can bring even those who have been in comas for many years back to health.
Please help all people who are in comas, and we particularly ask today that You restore to health all people who have been in a coma for many years.
Help us to always persevere in prayer. Give us the grace to rely on You even when we feel discouraged.
And we especially ask in this novena for (mention your intentions here).
Lord, hear our prayers!
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Reflection for Today
Today we pray for those who have been in comas for many years. Long-term comas can be the most challenging situations for families and caregivers. When someone has been unconscious for years, it can seem as if there is no hope for recovery.
Medical science often considers long-term comas to be permanent conditions. Doctors may tell families that there is no chance of recovery, that the person will never wake up. But we must remember that God is not limited by medical science.
In God's omnipotence, He can restore consciousness even after many years. He can heal what seems permanently damaged and bring life where there seems to be only death. Nothing is impossible for God.
As we pray today, let us ask God to help us persevere in prayer even when we feel discouraged. Let us remember that God's timing is not our timing, and that He can work miracles at any moment.
Remember that God never gives up on us, even when we give up on ourselves. He continues to love and care for us even in the most difficult circumstances.

Closing Prayer
Dear Lord, help us to persevere in prayer even when we feel discouraged. Give us the grace to rely on You even when medical science says there is no hope. May we always remember that You are omnipotent and that nothing is impossible for You. Help us to never give up hope in Your healing power. Amen.
