On this fifth day of the Novena for Pope Francis, we pray for Pope Francis's successor, the next Pope. We ask God to guide the Holy Spirit in choosing the right person to lead the Church.
Prayer for Day 5
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
O Crucified Lord, we mourn today the death of the Holy Father. May Your suffering and his bring about repentance and a return to You.
O Risen Lord, we pray that the Holy Father will come face to face with you and that his prayers for the Church will bring about renewal of faith in You.
We pray today for Pope Francis's successor, the next Pope.

For Pope Francis, we pray:
Eternal rest, grant unto him, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him.
May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Reflection for Today
Today we pray for Pope Francis's successor, the next Pope. The choice of a new Pope is one of the most important decisions for the Church.
We pray that the Holy Spirit will guide the Cardinal electors in choosing the right person to lead the Church in these challenging times.
The new Pope will need wisdom, courage, and love to guide the Church forward. We pray that he will be a shepherd who cares for his flock with the heart of Christ.
As we continue this novena, let us pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Let us ask God to choose a Pope who will lead the Church with faith, hope, and love.
Remember that the Pope is the Vicar of Christ on earth and the visible head of the Church. We should pray for him and support him in his mission to lead us closer to God.
