The Vocation of Parenthood
Parenthood is a vocation—a calling from God. When you became a parent, you received a sacred mission: to guide your children to heaven.
The Catechism teaches: "Parents have the first responsibility for the education of their children. They bear witness to this responsibility first by creating a home where tenderness, forgiveness, respect, fidelity, and disinterested service are the rule." (CCC 2223)
Saints Louis and Zélie Martin, parents of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, understood this. They created a home saturated with faith, where prayer was as natural as breathing.
ZĂ©lie wrote: "I want to become a saint. It will not be easy... but I want to work at it. I want my children to be saints."
Your primary job as a parent is not to make your children successful, popular, or wealthy. It is to help them become saints.

Lord, help me to embrace my vocation as a parent. Give me wisdom to guide my children to You. May our home be a school of holiness. Sts. Louis and ZĂ©lie, pray for us. Amen.
