Mother Teresa's Meditations

by St. Mother Teresa

St. Teresa of Calcutta (1910-1997) founded the Missionaries of Charity and dedicated her life to serving "the poorest of the poor." Her simple yet profound teachings on love, prayer, and service continue to inspire millions to see Christ in the faces of the suffering.

Do Small Things with Great Love

"Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love."

This is perhaps Mother Teresa's most famous saying, and it captures the essence of her spirituality. Holiness is not about doing extraordinary things but about doing ordinary things with extraordinary love.

"We can do no great things, only small things with great love. It is not how much we do, but how much love we put into the doing."

Mother Teresa saw every act of service as an encounter with Christ. Feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, caring for the sick—these were not just charitable works but acts of love for Jesus Himself.

"I see Jesus in every human being. I say to myself, this is hungry Jesus, I must feed him. This is sick Jesus. This one has leprosy or gangrene; I must wash him and tend to him. I serve because I love Jesus."

đź“– Scripture

Matthew 25:40 - "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me."

🙏 Prayer

Lord Jesus, help me to do small things with great love. Open my eyes to see You in everyone I meet, especially the poor and suffering. May every act of kindness be an act of love for You. Amen.
