Divine Mercy Reflections

by St. Faustina

St. Faustina Kowalska received extraordinary revelations about God's mercy, which she recorded in her Diary. These reflections draw from her writings to help you experience the depths of God's merciful love. Let the message of Divine Mercy transform your life and bring you closer to the Heart of Jesus.

Jesus, I Trust in You

From the Diary of St. Faustina (Diary, 47):

"In the evening, when I was in my cell, I saw the Lord Jesus clothed in a white garment. One hand was raised in the gesture of blessing, the other was touching the garment at the breast. From beneath the garment, slightly drawn aside at the breast, there were emanating two large rays, one red, the other pale. In silence I kept my gaze fixed on the Lord; my soul was struck with awe, but also with great joy."

This was the first of many visions St. Faustina received of Jesus as the Divine Mercy. The image she saw—now known throughout the world—shows Jesus with rays of red and white streaming from His Heart, representing the blood and water that flowed from His side on the Cross.

Jesus told Faustina: "Paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the signature: Jesus, I trust in You. I desire that this image be venerated, first in your chapel, and then throughout the world. I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish" (Diary, 48).

The words "Jesus, I trust in You" are the heart of the Divine Mercy message. Trust is the vessel that draws mercy from the ocean of God's love. The more we trust, the more we receive.

What does it mean to trust in Jesus? It means believing that His mercy is greater than our sins. It means turning to Him in every need, confident that He will help us. It means surrendering our lives to His loving care.

📖 Scripture

Psalm 13:5 - "But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation."

🙏 Prayer

Jesus, I trust in You. I trust in Your infinite mercy, which is greater than all my sins. I trust in Your love, which never fails. I trust in Your providence, which guides my life. Help me to trust You more each day, especially when I am afraid or discouraged. Jesus, I trust in You. Amen.
