Discernment Journey

by Catholic Bible Online

Every person has a vocation—a calling from God to a particular way of life. Whether you are discerning marriage, priesthood, religious life, or consecrated single life, these reflections will help you listen for God's voice and respond with generosity.

God Has a Plan for You

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11)

God has a plan for your life. He created you for a purpose, and He wants to reveal that purpose to you. Your vocation is not something you invent but something you discover.

Discernment is the process of discovering God's will. It requires prayer, patience, and openness to wherever God may lead.

Don't be afraid of God's plan. He knows you better than you know yourself, and He wants your happiness more than you do. His plan is always for your good.

St. John Henry Newman prayed: "God has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another."
