Catholic Verse of the Day

Proverbs 29:13

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Saturday, June 30, 2029, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Light of the World

Light of the World

The poor man and the creditor have met one another: the Lord is the enlightener of them both.

Proverbs 29:13

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us Proverbs 29:13: “The poor man and the creditor have met one another: the Lord is the enlightener of them both.”

Proverbs belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

Today's invitation under the theme of Light of the World is simple and serious. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.

Prayer

Come, Holy Spirit. Open the Scriptures to me as You opened them to the apostles. In Proverbs 29:13 I hear, “The poor man and the creditor have met one another: the Lord is the enlightener of…” Give me understanding, give me desire, and give me the grace to obey with joy. Amen.
