Theme: Peace
“There is one that holdeth his peace, that is found wise: and there is another that is hateful, that is bold in speech.”
Reflection for Today
Today's Catholic verse of the day is Sirach 20:5: “There is one that holdeth his peace, that is found wise: and there is another that is hateful, that is bold in speech.”
Peace is one of the first things anxiety steals. Christ does not deny our storms; He offers a peace that can remain even while the waves are still high. Sirach belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Sirach 20:5, let “There is one that holdeth his peace, that is found wise: and there is another that…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
