Theme: God's Love
“And Saul saw, and understood that the Lord was with David. And Michol, the daughter of Saul, loved him.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us 1 Samuel 18:28: “And Saul saw, and understood that the Lord was with David. And Michol, the daughter of Saul, loved him.”
1 Samuel is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Love in Scripture is never only a feeling. It is a decision to will the good of another, even when it costs patience, time, or pride.
Today's invitation under the theme of God's Love is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through 1 Samuel 18:28. You said, “And Saul saw, and understood that the Lord was with David. And Michol, the daughter…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
