Reflection for Today
Let Revelation 17:17 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “For God hath given into their hearts to do that which pleaseth him: that they give their kingdom to the beast, till the words of God be fulfilled.”
Revelation is often treated as a puzzle of fear. Catholic faith reads it as a book of worship and hope: the Lamb reigns, and history is not abandoned. A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings.
Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. Pray a decade of the Rosary with this verse in mind. Ask Mary to teach you how to keep God's word and ponder it, as she did.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Revelation 17:17. You said, “For God hath given into their hearts to do that which pleaseth him: that they give…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
