Let 1 Chronicles 17:20 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “O Lord there is none like thee: and here is no other God beside thee, of all whom we have heard of with our ears.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. 1 Chronicles is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.
Today's invitation under the theme of Daily Scripture is simple and serious. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through 1 Chronicles 17:20. You said, “O Lord there is none like thee: and here is no other God beside thee, of all whom we…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
