Let Wisdom 15:16 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “For man made them: and he that borroweth his own breath, fashioned them. For no man can make a god like to himself.”
Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth. Wisdom belongs to the wisdom books, where faith meets daily decisions. Holiness is not only for extraordinary moments; it is learned in ordinary choices.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Wisdom 15:16, let “For man made them: and he that borroweth his own breath, fashioned them. For no man…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
