Theme: Wisdom
“I will bless the Lord, who hath given me understanding: moreover, my reins also have corrected me even till night.”
Reflection for Today
Let Psalms 15:7 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “I will bless the Lord, who hath given me understanding: moreover, my reins also have corrected me even till night.”
A wise Catholic heart listens twice: once to Scripture, and once to the quiet prompting of conscience formed by the Church. The Psalms have given voice to every mood of the believer: praise, tears, trust, and longing. What Israel prayed, the Church still sings.
If nothing else remains from this page, let one phrase of Psalms 15:7 remain. Before the day runs away, sit with this verse for two quiet minutes. Say it slowly. Notice which word stays warm in the heart, and carry that word into one conversation.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for speaking through Psalms 15:7. You said, “I will bless the Lord, who hath given me understanding: moreover, my reins also have…” I do not want to rush past these words. Quiet my mind, warm my heart, and help me live what I have heard with faith, hope, and charity. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
