HopeFaithLove

And now there remain faith, hope, and charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity.

1 Corinthians 13:13

Reflection for Today

The Church sets before us 1 Corinthians 13:13: “And now there remain faith, hope, and charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity.”

Love in Scripture is never only a feeling. It is a decision to will the good of another, even when it costs patience, time, or pride. 1 Corinthians comes from the apostolic age, when the first communities were learning how to live the Gospel in ordinary struggles. The Church still listens here for guidance.

As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.

Prayer

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep 1 Corinthians 13:13 close to me. Let “And now there remain faith, hope, and charity, these three: but the greatest of…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
