Theme: Daily Scripture
“Thus saith the Lord: After this manner will I make the pride of Juda, and the great pride of Jerusalem to rot.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with Jeremiah 13:9. Hear these words again: “Thus saith the Lord: After this manner will I make the pride of Juda, and the great pride of Jerusalem to rot.”
In Jeremiah, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Jeremiah 13:9, let “Thus saith the Lord: After this manner will I make the pride of Juda, and the great…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
