Theme: Work & Service
“And Jeroboam the son of Nabat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up: and rebelled against his lord.”
Reflection for Today
Pause with 2 Chronicles 13:6. Hear these words again: “And Jeroboam the son of Nabat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up: and rebelled against his lord.”
2 Chronicles is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church. Scripture rarely flatters us. It loves us enough to tell the truth, and then it stays with us while we learn to live that truth.
Today's invitation under the theme of Work & Service is simple and serious. If possible, bring this line to Mass or to a brief visit before the Blessed Sacrament. Let Christ finish in silence what the verse began in your thoughts.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through 2 Chronicles 13:6, let “And Jeroboam the son of Nabat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up: and…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
