Reflection for Today
Pause with Joshua 13:33. Hear these words again: “But to the tribe of Levi he gave no possession: because the Lord the God of Israel himself is their possession, as he spoke to them.”
The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. Joshua is part of the long story of salvation. Catholics receive it as inspired Scripture, a word that prepares the heart for Christ and still nourishes the Church.

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Joshua 13:33 close to me. Let “But to the tribe of Levi he gave no possession: because the Lord the God of Israel…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
