Pause with Judith 4:15. Hear these words again: “So they being moved by this exhortation of his, prayed to the Lord, and continued in the sight of the Lord.”
Judith, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested. We often wait to feel holy before we pray. Scripture gently reverses that: we pray, and holiness begins to find us.
God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.
Prayer
Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Judith 4:15 close to me. Let “So they being moved by this exhortation of his, prayed to the Lord, and continued in…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
