Pause with Nahum 3:16. Hear these words again: “Thou hast multiplied thy merchandises above the stars of heaven: the bruchus hath spread himself and flown away.”
The Catholic way of reading is never solitary for long. We read with the Church, with the saints, and with the poor Christ still loves. In Nahum, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.

Holy Trinity, I receive today's verse with the Church. Keep Nahum 3:16 close to me. Let “Thou hast multiplied thy merchandises above the stars of heaven: the bruchus hath…” guard my thoughts from morning until night, and let my life quietly agree with Your word. Amen.
