Catholic Verse of the Day

Judith 2:5

Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible verse for Tuesday, November 24, 2026, with reflection, prayer, and a link to the full chapter.

Theme: Daily Scripture

And said to him: Go out against all the kingdoms of the west, and against them especially that despised my commandment.

Judith 2:5

Reflection for Today

Let Judith 2:5 speak first, before our plans and worries do: “And said to him: Go out against all the kingdoms of the west, and against them especially that despised my commandment.”

Judith, received in the Catholic canon, shows courage, fidelity, and providence when God's people are tested. Read in Catholic faith, this is not a decorative sentence for social media. It is a living word meant to convert, console, and send us back into ordinary life with a quieter heart.

God often changes us less by thunder and more by a line of Scripture that will not leave us alone. If the verse consoles you, do not rush past the comfort. Gratitude is also a form of obedience.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Judith 2:5, let “And said to him: Go out against all the kingdoms of the west, and against them…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
