Theme: Holy Spirit
“And every one of them went straight forward: whither the impulse of the spirit was to go, thither they went: and they turned not when they went.”
Reflection for Today
The Church sets before us Ezekiel 1:12: “And every one of them went straight forward: whither the impulse of the spirit was to go, thither they went: and they turned not when they went.”
A single verse can meet us differently depending on the season we are in: grief, gratitude, fatigue, or new beginnings. In Ezekiel, the prophetic word unsettles comfort and awakens hope. God loves His people enough to call them back, and enough to promise a future.
As you hold this verse, do not force a dramatic feeling. Ask only for faithfulness. Write one sentence of response in a notebook or phone note: what you hear God asking, promising, or healing. Then do one small act that matches that sentence.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Word made flesh, You still teach Your disciples through Sacred Scripture. Through Ezekiel 1:12, let “And every one of them went straight forward: whither the impulse of the spirit was…” become more than a memory. Make it light for my work, patience for my home, and courage for my vocation. Amen.
